Unsent love Letter

Mat pooch ke kya haal hai mera tere peeche?
Tu dekh ke kya rang tera mere aage..."

Ask not what separation has done to me
You see your poise (composure) when I come before you...

So this is Ghalib for you....
how very deep his thought process was....
and I can relate and identify with his writings
when I think of you....

I've always turned to Ghalib for inspiration....
in my moments of desperation and loneliness,
listening to his ghazals and reading his nazms....
helps in the healing process....
makes me feel I am not alone in my 'sufferings of the heart'....
He too went through it all....
and he penned it down in such beautiful shayeri....
it touches the deepest core of my heart....

"Dil hee to hai na sang-o-khisht, dard se bhar na aaye kyon?
royenge hum hazaar baar, koee hamein sataaye kyon?"

[ sang = stone, khisht = brick, sataaye = tyrannize/torment ]

Heart it is, not a stone or brick
Why shouldn't it feel the pain?
Let none tyrannize/torment this heart
Or I shall cry and cry again....

So I always get 'tyrannized/tormented' by your absence....
and I know you can't do anything about it and neither can I....
so I always sulk and let you know my momentary feelings....
venting out my frustration....
helps me recuperate for the time being....
till the next time it happens again and I get down....

That's a lot of ''heart to heart'' for now....

As always,

Anand Kumar Singh
